Welcome to the Board!

Canada Skateboard is stoked to welcome the newest member of our Board of Directors — a crew of passionate individuals who live and breathe skateboarding and are dedicated to supporting the skate community from coast to coast. As Canada’s national sporting organization for skateboarding, we’re dedicated to supporting every aspect of our community — from local skateparks to international competitions. With their diverse experiences and fresh perspectives, our new board members are ready to help guide our organization into its next chapter, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for skateboarding in our country and on the world stage.


Eric Morey (he/him) - Director of Finance / Treasurer / Chair of the Finance Committee

Eric is a partner at EY and national leader for the U.S. private tax practice based out of the EYSaskatoon office, a licensed Canadian CPA,  and U.S. CPA licensed in  Oregon State. He has been practicing international tax for 20+ years and he  provides assistance to individual and privately held corporate clients with U.S. and international tax compliance, planning, and consulting. Specific areas of focus include international tax treaty interpretation and implementation, U.S. and Canadian voluntary disclosure filings, crossborder corporate & individual compliance filings, working with U.S. citizens living in Canada, and assisting frequent cross‐border business travelers, executives, and professional athletes with their international tax filing obligations.


Matt Berger (he/him) – Athlete Representative on the Board / Director / Chair of the High Performance Committee

Matt is a professional street skateboarder from Kamloops, B.C., with an outstanding career that includes competing at the X Games, Street League Skateboarding, and representing Canada at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Widely respected for his technical skill, dedication, and leadership within the skateboarding community, Matt brings first-hand knowledge of the international competitive scene and a strong commitment to advocating for athletes. His perspective as a current athlete at the highest level will provide valuable insight to the board as Canada Skateboard continues to support, promote, and grow skateboarding across the country. 


Telma Costa (She/her) – Director

Telma brings over a decade of expertise in digital strategy, marketing, and audience development, and currently serves as Director of Audience and Digital Experience at a major Canadian arts festival, where she leads cross-functional teams to engage diverse audiences and support fundraising initiatives. She is also the founder of Later Skaters Gang, an online community that celebrates adult skateboarders and champions inclusivity in skateboarding. With her unique blend of professional experience, nonprofit leadership, and grassroots community building, Telma is passionate about using storytelling, strategy, and digital tools to grow the sport, strengthen its cultural impact, and connect with skaters across Canada.


Vickie Lemire (Elle/She/her) – Director

Vickie is a bilingual leader and community builder passionate about inclusion in sport. She leads Girls+ Skate 613, an initiative dedicated to making skateboarding more welcoming for girls and equity-deserving groups and has coordinated national Safe Sport initiatives. With her background in program development and safe sport, she will help Canada Skateboard grow a strong and inclusive future for skateboarding across Canada.


Dean Dahl (he/him) – Director

Dean has been actively serving the skateboarding community in Canada and around the world for over 25 years as a program director, camp and events director, youth worker, business owner, and consultant. He is the Founder and former Director of Skatelife, a non-profit skateboarding organization, where he led initiatives in fundraising, strategic planning, geographic and diverse growth, volunteer and staff supervision, and governance. With extensive leadership experience in the non-profit sector, Dean brings both vision and practical expertise. A lifelong skateboarder with deep connections across the global skate community, he now runs his own small business and is committed to dedicating his time, energy, and skills to help Canada Skateboard grow and serve skateboarders nationwide.


Cody Finney (he/him) – Director

A dedicated skateboarder for over 30 years, Cody has been deeply involved in the community and culture of skateboarding—from working in shops and mentoring youth to playing a key role in the development of community skateparks. Today, he serves as Group Creative Director at one of Canada’s fastest-growing advertising and creative agencies, where he has led global campaigns for some of skateboarding's biggest contributors, including some of their most significant milestone events. Cody brings a unique blend of authentic passion for skateboarding and extensive expertise in creative direction, culture, marketing, and community building. For him, joining the Board is a meaningful way to give back and help grow skateboarding across Canada.


Alicia Den Ouden (She/Her) – Director


Alicia has a lifelong connection to skateboarding and a deep expertise in inclusive community building. She co-founded Sisters of Shred, a Toronto-based non-profit supporting beginner skateboarders through sport, art, education, and community outreach, and played a key role in the development of Earl Bales Skatepark, while continuing to advise the City of Toronto on skatepark projects from a grassroots perspective. Professionally, Alicia is a Lead in User Research at Shopify and has held board positions with organizations such as the Queen West Art Crawl, bringing valuable governance experience. Her perspective bridges underrepresented skaters, city planners, and the broader skateboarding culture, making her a strong advocate for accessibility and growth in Canadian skateboarding.


We’re grateful to have such dedicated individuals joining our leadership team and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make. Together, we’re rolling toward a stronger, more connected skateboarding community across Canada.
