The Alternate Route

Updated: Jan 6, 2023

Join Curtis Ruttle—a 15-year-old skateboarding addict who is partially sighted—as he, his family, and friends create Calgary’s first-ever fully accessible skatepark.

The project works to create safe, accessible, and inclusive skatepark experiences for youth with vision loss and low vision. They do this by implementing adaptations to skateparks; adaptations that they have pioneered through hands-on research.
